Wedding Banners

The wedding reception hall is going to look great - flowers, bunting, fancy place cards, real china plates - but something is missing. You need a decoration that will put people in the party mood, straight off. A banner, yes, a big banner draped across the wall above the head table, saying - saying - uh...

There is no standard greeting to put on wedding banners. It's not like "Happy Birthday" or "Welcome Baby Oliver." You have to think up something. Obviously, you want the couple's names. But should it be "Justin and Sarah" or "Mr. and Mrs. Swanson"? Should you leave it at that or add a clever saying or a sincere wish?

"Good luck" or "God bless you" is almost always suitable. "Congratulations" and "Best Wishes" are unoriginal, but will do in a pinch. And if you want a unique greeting, think about Dustin and Sarah. Are they dreamy and romantic? Down-to-earth and practical? Both on their second marriage? Don't forget to keep it short: "Friends and lovers forever." "This is your day!" "Two hearts, one life."

Keep graphic simple, not busy - interlocked hearts or rings, a couple in silhouette, or joined hands will remind guests how special Sarah and Justin are.
