Happy Birthday Banners

"Happy Birthday!" "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" It's printed on the card, written on the cake, and sung loudly by the guests. But what if that still isn't enough for the occasion? You want a "Happy Birthday" for all the world to see! You want a happy birthday banner.

Think big. Every word, picture, graphic and background is going to be magnified to two, four, six feet long or more. You should probably save the delicately decorative fonts and frames for another time. Thick lines or balloon letters will shout out your message. And make sure it's legible. Fancy fonts are fun, but people will be looking at your banner from a distance. They won't be able to come close and squint.

Speaking of big, you will need to gauge the size of the banner to fit your party space. Are you stringing it between two trees in a park? Putting it over a standard size doorway? Hanging it vertically from a light fixture? Measure carefully. "Happy Bir..." with rest dangling or dragging on the ground isn't going to be very impressive.

And don't forget the name of the birthday person to let everyone how very special he or she is.
